Cobbles, Bridgend. South Wales.
Cobbles is a venue that caters brilliantly for those wanting a rustic, intimate venue with an amazing reputation for food. I met Rachel & Rhys a few months prior and getting to know about how they wanted to do things their way and the relaxed approach and desire to blend some traditional aspects with the non traditional made it a wedding I was really excited to photograph. Having been to the Cobbles several times previously and its close proximity to great beaches like Ogmore-by-Sea and Southerndown as well as Ogmore Castle it really is a dream venue for those having small to medium sized weddings.
Arriving at the venue first thing that morning and seeing the styling of Cinnamon Pig and subtle blue toned flowers by I'll bring you flowers made it even more inviting. Cakes were perfectly prepared and presented by Piped Cake Design. We were in for a wonderful day.
MORNING
With Taylor Swift's back catalogue playing in the background and a relaxed but excited atmosphere, it was quite easy to capture some of the moments of the morning at Rachel's house.
CEREMONY
The Hayloft at Cobbles is intimate and the ideal setting for Rachel & Rhys' beautiful ceremony. After the couple were married, I continued to shoot candidly as the guests enjoyed the autumn sun before.
NEWLYWEDS
We then gathered bridesmaids for some creative group shouts just outside the venue! Out came the smoke bombs and 90 seconds of adrenaline and fast paced photo taking!
OGMORE-BY-SEA
We took the short drive to Cobbles and captured the afternoon light. One of the benefits of an Autumn/Winter wedding is that the quality of light can be excellent all day given how low the sun is. Obviously, this is dependent on being able to see the sun but today we were fortunate. Even though the waves still crashed, the sun gave us a warmth and within about 15 minutes we captured some great photos of the newlyweds on Ogmore beach.
EVENING
Sparkler photos are becoming one of my favourite things to photograph at weddings. It was a great way to get everyone even more excited before heading in for the first dance and evening party.
